Reflecting on a Transformative Annual Insurance Week
Recently, we had the privilege of joining fellow insurers and reinsurers in a march for insurance, which culminated in an engaging exhibition at Millennium Grounds, Lugogo. This provided an excellent opportunity to explore key developments in insurance and reinsurance while showcasing how we are shaping the future of the industry.
During the opening of this year’s Annual Insurance Week, Al-Hajji Kaddunabbi Ibrahim Lubega, CEO of the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA), commended industry stakeholders for their unwavering commitment to driving growth. He emphasized the event’s importance in bridging the gap between insurers, regulators and the public. Notably, he pointed out a rise in insurance related complaints, an indicator of growing awareness and improved resolution mechanisms, which ultimately strengthen public confidence in the sector.

Day 2 of the Insurance Week was marked by meaningful engagements at our stall, where we had insightful discussions with clients, insurance partners and other reinsurers. These interactions centered on strategies to increase insurance penetration in Uganda and enhance the value proposition for policyholders.
On day 4, our CEO, Ronald Musoke, took the opportunity to visit our insurance partners’ stalls. His discussions revolved around strengthening collaborations to achieve mutual profitability while maintaining a client centric approach. The conversations also delved into innovative strategies to boost insurance visibility and drive greater market adoption in the coming years.

The grand finale of the Insurance Week was marked by the prestigious Annual Insurance Innovations Awards, hosted by IRA Uganda at Kampala Serena Hotel. Our CEO, Ronald Musoke, together with our Technical Assistant Mitchelle Kobugabe, attended this celebration of excellence and innovation within the industry. The event served as a testament to the sector’s continuous evolution, recognizing organizations that are leading the way in driving impactful insurance solutions.
As we reflect on this remarkable week, we remain committed to fostering innovation, strengthening partnerships and enhancing insurance accessibility for all Ugandans. Together, we are shaping a more resilient and inclusive insurance industry.
