Uganda Re Extends Support to Displaced Families in Kiteezi

Uganda Re, led by CEO Ronald Musoke, extended a helping hand to the residents of Kiteezi Camp Site, who were recently displaced by devastating waste slides at the Kiteezi Landfill. In partnership with the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Uganda Re delivered essential relief supplies to aid the affected community during this difficult time. The relief items included clothing, sanitary pads, basins, water jerricans, children's toys and other necessities aimed at helping families rebuild their lives. These supplies serve as a symbol of Uganda Re’s commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis.

While receiving the items, Sheila Birungi, Director for Gender, Community Services & Production at KCCA, expressed gratitude to Uganda Re for the generous support. She noted that this initiative marks the beginning of what she hopes will be a long-term partnership between Uganda Re and KCCA to improve the well-being of vulnerable communities like Kiteezi.

As part of our ESG & sustainability agenda and in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal 1 (No Poverty), Uganda Re remains dedicated to making a positive impact through meaningful partnerships.

Beyond delivering relief supplies, the Uganda Re team visited Kiteezi Camp Site to witness firsthand the challenges faced by the displaced families and identify additional ways to support them. Recognizing that this is just the beginning, Uganda Re is committed to doing more to improve the lives of those affected and to strengthen the communities it serves.
